Meeting Minutes for June 6th, 2012

Wayne Finley called the June 6th meeting to order at 6:05 pm.

The adjusted amount of the treasury, as of May 2, was $875 plus $457. The adjusted minutes of the May meeting were approved. Jaime Abbess explained the two bank accounts and requested reimbursements be made from our $1515.92 account totals.

The reimbursements were $271 postcards/ postage. The Treasurer’s report was accepted and approved.
The book sale generated $756. The banner we purchased for it can be used again and again.

Old business:
The members approved $150 for gift books for the youth services for gift books for the summer program.

New business:
Authors for reading events were solidified. Anita Bartholomew author of the “Midget House” will be our guest speaker for our 3rd meeting.

The Plein Air event will be in late October. It will be a juried event that will be presenting financial awards. We are giving it the full court press very shortly to ensure maximum exposure in the media prior to the event.

A new revenue source, BOOK SELECTORS.COM will be investigated. It was agreed it would require individuals perusing donated books to check for wanted titles. Linda Earle volunteered to help with the project.
The July issue of NORTHEAST JOURNAL will feature an article about FMLL. It will allow us to make more of the community aware of our existence and tout our upcoming events.

It was agreed that the July meeting will be on July 11, as the first Wed. of the month falls on Independence Day.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 pm.
