Meeting Minutes for March 5, 2014

The Friends of Mirror Lake Library* March 5, 2014 meeting was called to order at 6 PM by President Wayne Finley.  Introductions of the Board and members attending were made.

The amended minutes of the secretary’s report of the February 5, 2014 meeting were approved.  The treasurer’s report was approved, including the payment of submitted expenses by Linda Sages and Wayne Finley.

Maureen McDole made an excellent presentation for “keep St. Pete lit”.  There was excellent give and take between our members, library staff and Maureen about resources and ideas we share.

Kelly Malizia (manager, main and branch libraries) discussed MLL ** history and more ideas for the 100th anniversary, next year.  Members especially like the idea of producing a coffee table type book to commemorate the 100th anniversary.

It was decided that our members’ appreciation picnic would be expanded to invite potentially new members and to make it a book swap as well.  Providing music is being considered too.  The FMLL will provide iced tea, lemonade, water, cookies and watermelon.  Guests will bring their own sandwiches.  The event will be held on Saturday, April 26th from approximately 12-2 PM.

We will be deciding who will appear at our Author event on Monday, June 16th at next meeting on April 2, 2014.

Barbara Riddle shared information on the “Downtown Neighborhood Association’s” upcoming events.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:10 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Sagese, acting-secretary
