First Night Celebration

On New Year’s Eve, the Friends of Mirror Lake Library are participating in St. Petersburg’s wonderful First Night celebration. First Night has expanded its activities into the Mirror Lake area, with events at our library, the Shuffleboard Club, and the Sunshine Center.

The Friends are providing prints of our beautiful Beaux-Arts library to cut out and assemble into a model of the building. We are also showing off a new book celebrating the library centennial in 2015. Along with the Friends in the library will be MakerSpace activities to teach and empower you, including a 3-D printer and a Book Bot craft. The library is also hosting a special exhibition of the “Midtown Through Our Eyes” youth project. The library hours are 6 – 10 pm on Wednesday, December 31.

For a complete schedule of First Night activities and to get your admission button, see http://www.firstnightstpete.com.

If you can help the Friends for an hour or two (passing out scissors and glue sticks and helping assemble the library models), please contact us at friendsofmirrorlakelibrary@gmail.com or just show up and pitch in between 6 and 10 pm.
