Fall 2016 Author Events

The Friends of the Mirror Lake Library and Keep St. Pete Lit announce the next two events in our “An Evening With…” author series on Monday, September 12, and Monday. November 14.  All author events are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the second floor of Mirror Lake Library, 280 5th Street North, St. Petersburg.qatar

Lisa L. Kirchner, the author of the critically-acclaimed HELLO AMERICAN LADY CREATURE:  WHAT I LEARNED AS A WOMAN IN QATAR,  will speak on September 12.

Lisa Kirchner hoped moving to Qatar would change everything. Until it did.

Unlike the most women’s travel memoirs, this is the story of the person left behind. “Think Bridget Jones meets Lawrence of Arabia,” says Eric Weiner, the author of the best-selling GEOGRAPHY OF BLISS.

On November 14, we have two authors, Amy Krout-Horn and Gabriel Horn.

Amy Krout-Horn has resided in two worlds:  the world of the sighted and the world of the blind.  She has been a writer in both of them, creating novels (including DANCING IN CONCRETE MOCCASINS), essays, and short stories.  She is also a regular contributor to Slate and Style magazine.

Gabriel Horn’s publications span across four decades, and include MOTHERLESS, a novel that has won six book awards, including Winner of the 2016 International Book Award for Multicultural Fiction.
